The primary focus of iMG Recordings is working directly with the artists to ensure the highest quality products at the lowest cost to our consumer. While embracing the future of technology, iMG believes strongly in the inherent right to creative ownership.
iMG Recordings was founded 2001 by founder Rick Robinson who had previously founded RJ Management five years before. The company was formed after RJ Management had played a role in the careers of numerous artists in which it handled many of the day-to-day issues as well as long term personal goals for the artists' careers like . In 2000, Robinson saw the need to expand and build a record label along with his successful and growing management company.
After securing artists separate from the management to iMG Recordings, the label released a few artists at initially economical plans. The artists began to build and develop a fan base which also began to build iMG Recordings as one of the most profitable upand-coming independent record labels in urban music.
In 2003, iMG Recordings co-distributed the artist Double R and successfully scanned 15,000 units. With its savvy marketing and outside the box thinking, iMG made a net profit on that album of over 100,000 dollars , despite getting merely 7 dollars an album and over 500,000 down loads.
iMG Recordings is ready to continue its growth. Its focus is on having 7 to 15 releases within its first year of its imprint deal. The goals are similar with releases in the three, five and ten year outlook as well ,
Mr Robinson puts iMG in the hands of long time friends and family in 2005 after giving his life to the Lord, he moved to Bigger things by starting Soulfood Muzic which is positive music in the genre of positive mainstream R&B/Rap, urban gospel , & holy hip hop ALL IN ONE SOUND.
